Life styles of Karadugala

We were went to no.of houses during our visit.Most children are married at around 18 years.We saw some have even childs at the same age.We did not see any sanitary facilities there,ex.toilets,proper water supply etc.Some tube wells are out dated……..

We were shocked how they live at Karadugala at Pitakumbura

This lady is blind and have 4 children.Husband is no more,he was died from a disease.The eldest child,aged 11 foster others by begging.The house is only a hut.The whole village is spreaded,the malnutrition.They were earned living through collecting Aralu,Bulu,Nelli from Nilgala Herbal Park.But it is too banned now……… More photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12209396@N04/page3/

Water tank was out of order

 

Water tank of our school is functioning by using solar power.It works automatically.But some times it is running out of order.If so we have to bring water from the village’s common well.Yesterday was the same.

Heavy rain falls to the Pitakumbura in Sri Lanka.

 

There were heavy rain falls to our village yesterday.But there were no any floods or any other effects happened fortunately. It was a thunder shower.Generally ,the climate is on August , not rainy.The farmers are nowadays cultivating chena productions like serials.
